Student diary in Boston, Aug 22 ①
Today, I had an outdoor leadership activity in the morning and a GPI session in the afternoon.
During the leadership activity, I learned about group roles and different ways to communicate through some team-based game missions. Until now, I had only learned about leadership by sitting and listening, so this was a new and exciting way to learn.
When we discussed our roles, we realized there were three main ones: captain, cabin crew, and passenger. Each role was important, and we understood how they all worked together.
In the afternoon, I learned more about storytelling. I prepared a short speech about my goal for this program and presented it. It was a bit difficult to put my thoughts into words, but the process helped me understand my goal more clearly.
My goal for today was to run for student group leader—and I achieved it! A little bit of courage gave me a lot of confidence.
